Title piece for an article by Paul Jordan, ECD at Engine London, in Creative Review. I created the bespoke typography. Half Blackletter, half Brody. And modernised ornamental embellishment over a gradient background. The typestyle, inspired by Blackletter forms has seen the rule book thrown away. Cursive in its approach, but highly compacted to suit the given format, elegant finials adorn letterforms throughout, with highly stylised ligatures to the ‘ct’ and ‘ss’ combinations. Borders and ornaments were created in a playful stylised Neoclassical form.
