A series of portraits shot between 2015 and 2019. My images foreground the face within the frame, inviting one to imagine the subject’s story and examine ways in which people “perform” their identity. My work subverts the tradition of predominantly white, Western-looking representations and my camera acts as a tool for me to connect with people who are very different from myself.
