About me

Sabrina works across the fields of graphic design, art direction and photography with a distinct focus on fashion. She graduated from Vega School of Brand Leadership with a degree in Visual Communications, and three student awards. Following her studies, Sabrina interned at South Africa's leading independent online magazine A Fashion Friend. The two month internship involved designing layouts for the magazine, assisting on set, conceptualising and creating web content as well as producing engaging posts for the brand's Twitter and Facebook. In 2015 Sabrina started studying fashion design at the Design Academy of Fashion, but left when Superbalist.com offered her a job as Junior Designer. Superbalist.com is SA’s biggest and best fashion e-tailer. Her role includes conceptualising and developing new campaigns and strategies, visual merchandising of Superbalist emails and sales, art directing and photographing editorials for the Superbalist blog, developing and executing creative content for look books, adverts and social networks, packaging design and design of in-house Superbalist products. More recently she's started taking photo's on 35mm film, collaborating with local young designers and brands to create images that narrow in on youth, femininity and naivety. Her images have been published on Kastor & Pollux, Contributor Magazine, Cake Mag and the cover of I'm Not Perfect zine.

3rd Place Overall at Brand Challenge Awards

VEGA School of Brand Leadership

  • In keeping with its core objective of producing graduates that are industry ready, Vega places a significant premium on the annual Brand Challenge. This is a hugely rewarding initiative that mirrors the actual battleground of the industry by having students form their own groups come up with solutions to tackle current business problems. Every year, honours students and second-and third-year degree students form consultancy teams to work on live briefs from industry clients. The process includes having to conduct research and to come up with solutions for real-life 'brand challenges'. Students participating in the Brand Challenge have an opportunity to develop marketing communication solutions for selected brands. The top solutions in each category are actually implemented, and results are fed back to students.
