Pigeon at War

Pigeon at War is a mural of World War 1. This was a response to the project 'Sense of Place' of which I picked my home town of Folkestone. There are many murals to commemorate the war at the top of the Road of Remembrance where many walked down to fight for their country. Among the foliage are silhouettes of war planes, animals that participated in the war, soldiers, and family members of the soldiers - celebrating and grieving, illustrated from real photographs. I chose to highlight the pigeon because even pigeons made a massive impact on the war, saving thousands of soldiers lives by carrying important messages.
