A Greenpeace campaign that highlights the problems caused by marine pollution, focussing mainly on plastic waste. The poster gives the illusion of a beach scene from a distance. When people look closer, they will discover that it’s not a beach at all, just some plastic bags; forcing the real message to hit home. The campaign then extends into both an editorial and an app to raise awareness of the problems caused by plastic pollution and how they can be helped. The campaign aims to engage all ages by being both fun and informative at the same time – For example the app provides information on reusable items and upcoming beach cleans, but also includes a ‘Save the Sea’ game to include younger audiences; after all, they are the people responsible for the future of the planet.
