I co-directed the music video for Poppy Ajudha’s take on Herbie Hancock’s ‘Watermelon Man’ with my dear friend and fellow filmmaker, Nathan Shadrach. The lyrics of the song are incredibly powerful and speak to the continual misinformation that prevents black people from living equally within society. Collaborating with Poppy on this was not only a chance for us to express the feelings of our community but hopefully inspiring them to.
