PowerPot Concept

A flowerpot that lets you plug in your phone so you can unplug, freeing you up to enjoy the company at your table without any distractions.
There are two things we all loathe when it comes to smartphones: the constant fear of battery death and the torrent of distractions they unleash every time we should be focusing on something (or rather, someone) else.
The PowerPot represents a kind of panacea to both of these contemporary problems.
The PowerPot is much more than just your average power bank in the form of a flowepot. Placed in buzzing social environments it nudges users to engage with their immediate surroundings in a more meaningful way.
The sensors embedded at the bottom of the pot ensure the phone starts charging only when slid all the way down. This way, it renders the phone useless and cuts the user off from the addictive stream of content, posts and notifications.
The PowerPot has an integrated 3500mAh battery that can charge up to 6 phones in one go. The battery can be fully charged outside working hours with a basic micro-USB cable.
It also features a rudimentary alarm system in order to prevent it from being stolen: the sound alarm goes off if the component is held in the air for more than 15 seconds.
