Inspired by the photographic story of my mother’s childhood, looking at family life in 1960-70s Britain. The collection holds a sense of purity and naivety. Key photographers are Martin Parr, Tony Ray-Jones, Euan Duff, John Hinde and Peter Mitchell.
The season’s muse possesses a sophisticated confidence, reflected in the use of tailored jackets and shirts. Whilst her style is fresh and fun, there is a classic look, developed from the vintage references and the 1950s influence from my grandmother. The silhouette is strong and feminine. Garments often emphasise the waist whilst boasting large voluminous and playful sleeves. Wide leg trousers are also a key element throughout the collection, inspired by 1930s beachwear.
