Hey mister! Can we have our ball back? It's that time of year yet again, tune into BBC one Saturday night for MoTD! The Premier League football season kicks off this Saturday. To celebrate (and set myself a little project), I am going to re-imagine / update / iterate each teams logos. One team per week (across the next 20 weeks)... I'll try and give a little reasoning and rational behind each design with the decisions I make. To kick things off (like what I did there �), I've looked at the Premier League logo itself. Which personally I really like and think looks pretty great. But the task needs to be carried out. So I looked at the history of the PL logos and how they progressed and evolved. Following the direction of most things at the mo: + I reduced the detail. + Removed detail from the lions mane. + Removing spikes from the crown. + Smoothed out some edges. + Maturing the lions face, to look mature and more prestigious. + Altered the typography. + Updated the colour. I think the overal finish looks effective - minor edits to a stella logo. If a little like a spot the difference game. I also threw in a more vintage op at the end, as a nod and evolution to the inaugural logo. As always let me know your thoughts - if i've ruined football for ever!
