A TV commercial, Launch film & Teaser for the new Range Rover Sport SVR, shot at Silverstone, February 2014.
It was a very cold, wet and windy February when this film was shot in 2014, but luckily, on the third day, when the helicopter had been booked, the weather cleared up. The only problem with that was the continuity, so rain had to be brought in via a tanker lorry to re-create the inclement conditions.
The car itself is a beast of a machine, & will no doubt appeal to bored oligarchs & young footballers alike. I decided to create a film that reflected the 'aggressive' nature of the car, using sound design to reinforce the action on screen & the rapid editing.
My original stab at creating an edit was met with much delight, but was considered far too 'in-yer-face' for the client & so it was eventually watered down to what you see here. Although not as fast paced as my original, these films are still great to watch & listen to.
On the back of the original Launch film, the client asked if we could re-edit the film for a TV commercial.
