As a marketing and digital freelancer for Chrysalis Arts Development I took on on the rebrand and new website project for the organisation.
The organisation had changed quite a bit since it's last website design and visual identity. They were now focusing more on the environmnetal and place-based side of their work with artists and creatives. Our goal was to reflect this direction in their work, as well as create a simple and easy to use website for multiple audiences. The website needed to communicate to artists seeking their support, audiences seeking event information and arts organisations/funders seeking more information on their projects and news.
As a freelancer for the team, I have also created their digital strategy and create their online content. We worked through the strategy and content before jumping into the visual design. From there we created a new visual identity that was weighty for a Arts Organisation with a decades worth of work behind it, but also modern and forward looking.
Visually, we went for straight forward no nonsense typography. We then used colour and photography to add the warmthy and clearly signal the organisation's dedication to the environment and it's rural location in North Yorkshire.
The website was deisgned and then developed on Webflow. Having a robust cms was a must for this project, with new stories and projects needing to be updated easily. I maintain the website and update the site design and ux as needed overtime.
We are currently working on developing the site to be more environmentally responsible.
