Rebrand : Moving Picture Company

Working in-house, I was lead designer on all aspects of the global rebrand for MPC and MPC Film, from developing concepts with creative director Antar Walker and motion designer Edvin Cindrak, through to implementation via brand guidelines and production liaison. The rebrand, which was led by global head of marketing, Lauren Pollare, was in response to internal and external research about how MPC was perceived. Our aim was to create an identity that was both bold and flexible, and which conveyed a sense of movement through its various iterations.

The new MPC site was built by Funkhaus in Los Angeles. We felt it was important to allow them a degree of freedom to find their own solutions and so our style guides and frames were used just as a starting point, with us providing feedback along the way.
One thing that I wasnt expecting was that so many people within the company would become involved in the rebrand, not just designers and animators but colleagues in production, engineering and marketing, helping to get everything ready, from signage to merchandise to stationery to hospitality. If nothing else, the rebrand was a great way to bring different parts of the company together in ways that a lot of projects dont often get to do.
