Red hands are a sign of guilt

My Masters project centred around the outcomes of interviews I held with people on their “passion projects”, which I then used as inspiration for illustrative and animated pieces on those subjects. One of the topics I looked at was eczema, as a sufferer myself I was interested in portraying the guilt and shame that can manifest around highly visible skin conditions such as this. In the illustrated piece, I utilised the visual of google searches to represent that frantic feeling of looking for an answer. I also produced a companion piece of animation in which the character is painting on her own eczema on her reflection, I wanted to show how it can feel as though you are somehow doing something to bring this condition upon yourself.
