Regal Rocco

'Regal Rocco' is a Spring/Summer collection inspired and influenced by Wellington Hall a stately home in Northumberland. The collection is inspired by the interior details of the home, looking at details such as prints in the chairs, floor tiles, staircases, armour rooms and the main influence being the Rococo styled ceiling in the main room of the Stately Hall. The ceiling was the inspiration for the print design, which is featured in the two piece suit, the jumpsuit, the bag linings and silk scarves. The colour palette was inspired by the Wallace Collection in London, which owns some pieces by the Rococo art period. The palette was inspired by another ceiling in the Wallace collection featuring soft pinks and cream pastel palettes, this was the inspiration for the colours scheme. The macrame used in the silk dress was inspired by the chainmail in the armour room of Wallington Hall. The form of the print and cross over of the chainmail inspired the knotting technique in the macrame knots which was then hand knotted and embellished in each section with a number of mini keyrings to create a diversity of materials in contrast with the soft elegant pink silk fabric of the dress. This collections silhouette has been created using strong angles in pattern cutting against soft curves by inserting ruffs into the seams flowing down the sides of the body creating movement when the garment is being worn, the silhouette is inspired for someone who is powerful, who is stylish and wants to look smart but edgy, classy but casual, feminine but masculine.
