'RESTLESS' for Pap Magazine

“I could not help it: the restlessness was in my nature” (Charlotte Bronte, Jane Eyre). Our latest story explores the feeling and struggles of our current times through the lens of our protagonist. Going through phases of lightness and darkness, movement and standstill, hardship and hope, we focus on showcasing the handling of these difficult emotions that unite us all. Longing for a better tomorrow whilst accepting the constant gap between feeling restless and at ease is the crucial message of the spread. To realise our concept we incorporated images that showcase movement as well as standstill. We are portraying the gradual movement through the different emotions by adapting a play with light and shadow as well as unusual colour and crop choices. We chose red to sum up our story and to accentuate what this story is all about: feeling restless in our current times, aspiring to be fully free again (Ally Lux 11/2020).
