Retired Racing Greyhounds

Greyhound racing, is it cruel? Is using dogs for your own entertainment a moral thing to do? "But Greyhounds love to run" people will argue, and I reply "Yes, they love to run on a beach, in a field or in a park, not on a racing track." What people often naively don't acknowledge is that these dogs will never experience a life of being loved and cared for, all they know is racing. When injured or deemed not good enough they are disregarded and sent off to kennels, as if they're just an object being given to a charity shop. These kennels then have to care for these dogs, feeding them, walking them, loving them and paying for all their vet bills until the day that they get adopted and get to experience the life of being a family pet. Some of the dogs may never get rehomed, this is the only form of love they will ever know.
