I created these photographs in response to a brief from Riposte Magazine about female masturbation.
I was a little embarrassed at the prospect of creating a photo story on the subject at first. However, I was then emboldened at the thought of how much airtime male masturbation gets in film, music, the media and society as a whole. Very few women are bold enough to admit they have ever masturbated, even to their closest friends.
Working along with my long time collaborator, set designer Sarah Parker, we set out to visualise writer, Tori West’s frank and personal article.
