To celebrate International Women's Day we have commissioned six of our favourite designers and artists to create a poster inspired by the word PERSIST - with all proceeds going to Women for Women.
Back in February Elizabeth Warren was silenced when trying to read a letter from Coretta Scott King on the senate floor. One grey faced Republican justified the silencing by saying:
"She was warned. Nevertheless, she persisted."
Since then it has become an unlikely battle cry for women worldwide. A reminder that we must persist and resist the abuse of power and inequality wherever we see it.
Above, Lakwena Maciver is an artist who uses kaleidoscopic colours, bold pattern and adornment to spread powerful messages through her joyful and glorious work.
