Riposte Prints: Women for Women

  • Danielle Pender
To celebrate International Women's Day we have commissioned six of our favourite designers and artists to create a poster inspired by the word PERSIST - with all proceeds going to Women for Women.
Back in February Elizabeth Warren was silenced when trying to read a letter from Coretta Scott King on the senate floor. One grey faced Republican justified the silencing by saying:

"She was warned. Nevertheless, she persisted."

Since then it has become an unlikely battle cry for women worldwide. A reminder that we must persist and resist the abuse of power and inequality wherever we see it.
Above, Lakwena Maciver is an artist who uses kaleidoscopic colours, bold pattern and adornment to spread powerful messages through her joyful and glorious work.
Lynnie Zulu creates work that is vibrant and life affirming. Just looking at one of her prints will make you want to go out and smash the shit out of your day - in a good way.

If you’re into graphic design Paula Scher is probably an icon to you. As the first female partner of Pentagram she has created incredible work for clients such as the Highline, The Public Theatre, MoMA and The Met in New York.

Top Girl Studio is run by Anna Potter. With colourful vibes and a self-referential sense of irony her work is a bold, ever-evolving, satirical critique on society. Top Girl Studio’s primary artistic focus is internet culture, human behaviour and girl power.

Her work has been featured by the likes of Dazed, Paper magazine & Teen Vogue.

Sonya Dyakova is the powerhouse talent behind Atelier Dyakova. She's a Russian designer who creates some of the smartest and most beautiful graphic design around.

Tracy Ma does everything. She designs, makes zines, illustrates, animates and created some of the best front covers for Bloomberg Business Week when she was Deputy Creative Director.
