'As a music journalist, it’s always interesting watching various musicians’ career trajectories. Sometimes it’s easy to tell what direction an artist is heading in with their style, audience and genre choices, and other times it’s a bit baffling. Rocks FOE sits firmly in the baffling category. Whilst he’s not quite MF DOOM levels of elusive, the amount of background information on the Black Acre label’s artist is few and far between. The first time some will have heard of the Croydon based producer and MC will have been after the release of his 2015 EP ‘’Legion’. On that EP featuring the standout track ‘Hold That (L)’ (a track that was later remodeled in collaboration with Iglooghost and re-titled ‘Ell’), introduced an eclectic and unique style of hip-hop infused with east Asian influences, grime, lyrical prowess and his own secret ingredients.
