In March 2018 I completed the Bloomberg Broadcast Programme at the Roundhouse in Camden, London. During the Programme I was given a brief to create a film to help promote the Roundhouse's Resident Artist Programme to potential applicants. Fred Fredas is a music artist on the Resident Artist Programme who my Resident Artist film centers around.
I was one of a group of camera operators who filmed this piece but I edited this particular film. While crafting this film I tried to capture the journey artists like Fred who start off with a burning passion to create music but don't necessarily have the resources or platform reach the very top. Using his songs "Ain't Fooling Me" and the much slower tempo unnamed, unreleased slower "freestyle" song gave me a strong foundation to communicate Fred's versatile artistry and provide engaging promotional content for the Roundhouse's Resident Artist Programme.
