Art Curation for Unit G Gallery with artist Conrad Armstrong
START is a platform that shines a spotlight on emerging artists and new art scenes. Organised by the prestigious Parallel Contemporary Art and the Saatchi Gallery, START creates the best possible showcase for innovative young galleries and new artists by providing an elegant environment with museum-quality spaces. In 2015, START featured 38 galleries from across 23 countries.
TENSION by Conrad Armstrong

The show is comprised of an intriguing collection of paintings and sculptures from the body of work 'TENSION' (2016) by Conrad Armstrong. For this exhibition , Conrad investigates reflections on the structure of contemporary society in Britain.
TENSION is an emotional, post Brexit outburst from the artist. The works show Armstrong’s typically experimental material approach to creating a series of paintings that explore themes of Tension, Division and Violence in society. The works, however don’t embrace a culture of negativity and fear but instead look to the future in search of positive outcomes through healing, resistance and open dialogue between fractured communities.

For this project, I have built a solid application dossier to introduce my Gallery and my selected artist to the director and organisers of the fair.
Being in close liaison with the artist Conrad Armstrong, I have curated our booth placed in the section 'This Is Tomorrow' highlighting young emerging galleries.
Organising all the logistic I have personnally hung up the show the booth with the artist.
I have been in charge of the marketing and communication for the art fair. Inviting, collectors, buyers and press to the VIP preview at Saatchi. Organising alongside Conrad Armstrong and afternoon of performances on the booth to galvanise the exhibit and draw the visitors attention on our booth. The Quietus noticed our Gallery's booth and wrote about us in their review of the fair. Still available to read here.
