Print Design | 2016
Saigon Rider is a motorbike adventure tour provider in Hochiminh City. Their group tour locations include Saigon, its surrounding areas, Northern Vietnam highlands and the Mekong Delta and they want a better design for their tour brochure, for which I created two versions. The brochure showed in this portfolio is the prototype design for their Mekong Delta tours.
When I studied the images provided by the clients, I realised that they were quite similar to each other (same shots of green paddy-fields, the Mekong river, floating market) due to the similarity in the local sceneries, and since all the images are already featured in the main brochure set, I did not see why we should repeat them in this edition. Therefore, instead of making a regular image-heavy brochure, the idea is to express the adventurous nature of the tours and create excitement for the reader by turning it into a 16-page fold, featuring a hand-drawn map that shows the location of each destination and the route each tour will take.
* I created the map by taking screenshots of all the routes on Google Map provided by the client, aligning them together on Adobe Photoshop to have all the routes on one single image and design a rough layout to make sure it can fit nicely all the needed content. Then I printed it out on a A2 sheet, traced the full map using a light box and scanned it back on the computer.
