“Scarlet Skies” 14″ x 28″ chalk pastel 05/2017

  • Christopher McCall
I wanted to add a combination of surreal and fantasy to this piece. I used the towers in the middle as a focal point. From there, I wanted to guide the viewers eye’s in a continuous motion around the piece, from top to bottom. From the reflection, the eyes are drawn back to the middle, where the viewer started.
Lord of the Rings artists, John Howe, Alan Lee and many others brought a lot of inspiration to this compelling and aggressive landscape.
