This is my elegy and theoretical discoursees about Egon Schiele’s famous self-portraits which were created at the beginning of 20th century. How could look like his creations if he was born in the 21th century, century of the digital era?
Schiele's work was already daring, but it he made a bold step further with the inclusion of Klimt's decorative eroticism and with what some may like to call «figurative distortions» which included elongations, deformities, and sexual openness. Schiele's self-portraits helped to re-establish the energy of both genres with their unique level of emotional and sexual honesty and use of figural distortion in instead of conventional ideals of beauty.
In my work I am tried to discover the path of the Schiele’s lines, unnatural poses and very unique coloration.
I am working with Schiele’s self portraits like with a model to draw from. My main tool is a circle, which I used as an object for cutting of, as a sculptor, whom works with one piece of material and cut off the right form.
