A self-initiated project created to allow for experimentation with motion / textures / metallic text. Pulled together to mould the identity of an imagined supper club / restaurant based here in Glasgow. Informed by the concept of my (v cool) uncle’s business Fallachan Dining, upon learning the meaning of ‘Fallachan’ (A hoard, concealed store / hidden gem) I was immediately inspired by the idea of being hidden, secretive and utilising old Scot’s language and imagery. For the purpose of the project, I’ve used the name ‘Seilear’ - Scottish Gaelic for ‘Cellar’. The reed glass effect symbolises that secretive aspect - being revealed and coming out of hiding. This is paired with Scottish inspired type from Type01 / Good Eggs Type Foundry in a metallic effect reminiscent of old Scottish artefacts.
