BRAND Jamii is a loyalty card for black owned businesses. They want to show that shopping at black owned business is valuable and important to make change. INSIGHT Shopping isn't often a task that represents social change or activism. However, shopping at black owned businesses has the power to change racial injustices and empower the black community. SOLUTION Create an in store campaign to highlight that shopping at black owned businesses comes with hidden societal benefits and costs nothing extra. Provide all Jamii partner businesses with receipt templates (below) that highlight the hidden societal benefits of shopping at black owned businesses. Encourage people to share a picture of their receipt on social media with a giveaway competition. Put "SHOP FOR CHANGE" Jamii branded call to action posters in partner businesses' windows to create intrigue and excitement around the Jamii brand and the store itself. Also kick starts the customer's journey towards realising that shopping is an activity that has the power to create change. Replace typical deal stickers with product stickers that highlight the benefits that come with shopping at black owned businesses and complete the customer experience.
