Silver & Green Olive Packaging & Website

  • Eilidh Smith
A live industry brief set by Salad, to package and promote a new range of olive fridge pots for Mediterranean food specialists “Silver & Green”. It was important that we designed to be fit for the target audience of 25-55 year olds and their current position in the market. It is important to remain "on brand" to be consistent and recognisable. It would be a high end product sold in farm shops, delis and higher end supermarkets sold for £2.99-£3.99. The product needs to be "more accessible", "consistent" with the existing ranges and appear "fresh".
Packaging I approached this packaging design by picking out the key recognisable elements and styles within their existing range of olives. I decided to base my initial experimentation on watercolour, whitespace and a transparent overlay of the logo in the background. The final packaging design aims to put the emphasis on the freshness and quality of ingredients. I had looked at how important it is for the potential consumer to be able to see the product through the packaging. I felt that the packaging would be more functional as a rounded pot with a wrap around sleeve design. I wanted to ensure that the product came across as a high quality, fresh product to fit well in their high end market.

Website
Websites are a very important port of call to visit to find out more. I felt that their current website did not give the user the best/ easiest experience to navigate around the site, so I decided to redesign the site and use the design components from the new packaging and the bold use of colour and white to give a professional and high quality feel.
