Slide Scanning and Vintage Formats

Todays memories are taken and carried with us on our phones, easily shareable from device to device and its truly amazing! However, lets not leave the moments our previous generations took on the shelf. How nice would it be to have your family albums as accessible as the meme's in your group chat... A shared, digital archive your family from across the globe can browse and add too at any time. Not only will it be easily accessed but it would be much bigger than you would have ever seen in one sitting. The physicality of positive slides, like the ones below and even prints, add just as much emphemral value as the images themselves and this why I made studies of both. If you or your family are interested in making a digital archive of your albums, It would be a great oppurtunity to help you create and personalise it to your needs. My mother is one of 12 and the sheer volume of images we've been able to collate over these lockdown months have brought us together in ways only photography can. I might be the only one that sees the value in this but even if that's the case I know the time spent to make it created a space my family and I appreciate for years to come.
