So Adopt Me

  • Ed Byrne
The DSPCA are Ireland's largest pet rescue and animal shelter. Over the past 2 years the number of animals they have to rescue was increasing massively. One of the key reasons for this was because of the number of animals being sold online through classified sites from puppy farms.

The sale of pets to make profits is cruel on the animals and usually results in re-homing. I approached the DSPCA to see if I could create a model which would only allow for sheltered animals to be adopted rather than sold. We then created the "So Adopt Me" service which acts in the same way a classified would do but only it promotes only pet adoption from registered shelters.

Over the past 12 months the DSPCA have seen an increase of 35% on pet adoption than in previous years.
