Daffodil PR & Communications Ltd worked as the official social media partner for the Minehead BID/Visit Minehead. We were responsible for managing their accounts across different channels, and during the period of working with Minehead BID, their follower numbers increased by an average of 20% bi-monthly. Additionally, as part of this work we designed a set of adverts for Out of Home advertising space within the town centre and along the seafront. This advertising aimed to drive visitors to the shopping areas of the town, increasing footfall and spending within Minehead's BID. We also worked to achieve positive press coverage of the town, including a piece in The Telegraph (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/united-kingdom/england/somerset/articles/postcard-minehead-extended-summer-coronavirus/) and obtain a suite of marketing collateral that could be used to promote Minehead as both a visitor destination to tourists, and a shopping destination for those more locally. This included the design and build of a new website to promote independent businesses within the town, as well as key tourist attractions and things to do. Additionally we delivered a workshop to businesses within the BID on how to maximise their social media engagement. The training included identifying what platform is right for your business, how to obtain engaging content to use in your marketing and how to use your analytics to continually strengthen your strategy. Feedback from all businesses that took part was positive, and following the first session, we were asked to deliver another to those who were unable to make the original session.
