Creating these abstract pieces felt like solving a puzzle. I scribbled down a quote from an interview with Heather Day and I’ve held onto that scrap of paper for years - she describes her own process as “something intentional paired with something chaotic.” This attitude towards making art makes me think about what we as humans need to thrive in general - intention and purpose but also the possibility of something unexpected.
