Set up in April 2015 with Charlotte Lowdell, Laura Kirwan-Ashman and myself, SKMY is a female film collective with a DIY, collaborative and inclusive approach to filmmaking. In April 2016 we launched an eponymous webseries, written by Laura, directed by Charlotte and produced and edited by myself.
Since setting up the collective, we have been invited to screen our work in festivals and symposiums as well as participate in panels and lead workshops for the following organisations: International Cinema Organisation, IAMDORA, Gal-dem, V&A museum, Brainchild Festival, LOCO Festival, On the Verge Film Festival.
Our work as been covered by Dazed, i-D, Asos, Gal-dem, Girls Club among others and we were ambassadors for fashion brand MONKI’s 10-year anniversary campaign MONKIFESTO.
