In the age of Kardashian callouts, blackface and DIY art culture, the internet has never been a more important platform. Online communities like Black Twitter have carved a space for political discourse on the web and our voices are finally being heard.
With ‘woke’ added to the Oxford English Dictionary (definition: staying aware of social and political injustices happening in the today), we’ve seen it, we’ve heard it, we’ve sung it. We are asking how the digital age of Tweets, gifs and hashtags can help us to incite social change in our society.
