Splinter is a font collaboration with Maho Kameda & Nick Massarelli.
The last assignment at Typography Summer School (2018, London) was to make a font in a team. We started from a couple of "lost type letters" (i.e. the only letters left of that font) and quickly decided that we wanted to use as few of the triangles, that made up the letters, as possible. We wanted to experiment and see how far we could go before it got unreadable. The end result is SPLINTER.
