Welsh Italian cafes (Bracchi’s) have held a secure place in the heart of the Rhondda Valleys for the past century. Once considered to be the thriving social hub of these small coal mining communities, the few cafes which remain stand as an untouched glimpse into a bygone era. The Station Cafe is one of two Bracchi's left in Treorchy, it is owned and run by the Balestrazzi family. I wanted to capture the essence of the Station Cafe - which led to using 35mm film.
