About me
Martin Cannon filmmaker based in South Wales. His films have played in festivals such as Encounters Film Festival and British Shorts Festival Berlin. His short film "Amusements" was selected as The Smalls film of the month and was part of BAFTA Cymru’s 2017 young filmmaker programme in Bangor. He has recently been selected as a Writer/Director for the 2019 BAFTA Crew & BFI Network. His co-written comedy pilot 'Pleasure People' for BBC Radio Wales recently aired. He is currently in post-production with his latest short film ‘Milk Teeth’ with support from Arts Council Wales. Aiming to bring businesses to attention through creating interesting and engaging visual content.

  • Station Cafe.
    Station Cafe.Welsh Italian cafes (Bracchi’s) have held a secure place in the heart of the Rhondda Valleys for the past century. Once considered to be the thriving social hub of these small coal mining communities, the few cafes which remain stand as an untouched glimpse into a bygone era. The Station Cafe is one of two Bracchi's left in Treorchy, it is owned and run by the Balestrazzi family. I wanted to capture the essence of the Station Cafe - which led to using 35mm film.
