StayHome

I was walking my dog one day when I noticed that the group of people that live under a bridge near my house, had hung a painting. I thought, curious. A couple of days later they had a dinning room table and more paintings (of animals and landscapes). more days passed and they even had a kids room. I found it so beautiful and sad at the same time. Of course it was not long before they got ¨evicted¨ . I have mixed feelings about this because why should they not make a home. I mean, they even had flowers in a vase and kept everything super clean. But I understand that if you allow it, public spaces will become private spaces. I do not know what the solution for homelessness might be, but I think about this situation a lot. I see more homeless people everywhere. So I spoke to my friend Agustina and it turns out she had been thinking about this too. We started going out the day that people can throw away furniture. At around 9 p.m. in Poblenou (Barcelona, Spain), for what I remember was like a couple of months. We had help from Diego, because some of the furniture was heavy, and three minds work better than two. We would collect the furniture nearby and create these living spaces in public places. vaya And with time, animation and of course, music ( I took snippets of Floating Points and Pharoah Sanders LP), they became these twilight zonie places, not here not there.
