In 2017, I convieved and then led the UK based anti-knife crime charity, Steel Warriors. Around one tonne of knives come off London’s streets every month. Steel Warriors melt down knives and recycle them into free outdoor gyms. These gyms aim to give young people more physical and psychological confidence to walk the streets unarmed. We currently have four gyms in London. I led the charities first campaign which reached over 800 million people and over 42 different countries worldwide with no media spend. My co-founder, Pia, and I feel thrilled to have been selected by Forbes on the 30 Under 30 (2020) list in the social entreprenuers category for our work on Steel Warriors. The Steel Warriors team is now made up of over 100 different individuals working from 20 different companies. Our first gym in East London's Langdon park has been listed by Men’s Health as the 'Best gym in the world’ and Twitter has awarded us with their 2019 Powered by Tweets award. We currently have four gyms in London. Each gym has a world class Steel Warriors trainer offering free strength, freestyle and cardio sessions to the local community. Other supporters of ours: Heyne Tillett Steel, StubHub, Sky, Uber, Avison Young, Paramount Pictures, Lucky Generals, Twitter, British Land, Herbert Smith Freehills, Nike, Red Bull, Anthony Ward Thomas, Rebel Strength, Inciner8, Equals, Freuds, Proud Robinson, Spotlight Youth Centre, Cratus and London's Metropolitan Police. www.steelwarriors.co.uk
