Stichting Stem op een Vrouw — Vote for a Woman Foundation.

  • Sarafina Jozefzoon

Since 2021 I’m working for a foundation that is stimulating people to vote for women in the parlement. Very much needed since women are still underrepresented in the parlement till this day. For Vote for a Woman I design mainly posts for social media, but sometimes also different products like brochures. This contains a selection of made work, and add commentary with each work. When designing I always keep the end goal in mind. What is the purpose of the visual? What needs to be communicated to the viewers? I work with brand colours and fonts that was already chosen before I started to work for the foundation. Most of the time I create the social media posts for multiple platforms. This includes: Instagram (feed and story), Facebook and Twitter.

Local council election 2022

For this years election, I designed the new voting guide, that helps people to vote in a way that more women will be in the Dutch local councils. It was important to make sure that the images, especially the last two were clear to understand. By adding arrows and changing the color of some of the icons on the last one, it became more the visual representation of the text above in each visual.
After the election when all the results were announced, I designed several social media posts that celebrated a certain win. I used After Effects to add a special element that made the design a bit more festive.
Network meet-up

The Network meet-up is an initiative between Vote for a Woman and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. For the network announcement I designed the several visuals that introduced the local councils that would attend the event. The visual in the middle is one of the local counsels that attended the event. Every council that attended the event had it’s own slide.
Guest lectures organised by Vote for a Woman Foundation

Vote for a woman also organised classes for secondary schools, that is focussed on learning the students about politics and important women in history that contributed in their own way for women’s rights. For the classes I designed several visuals included a brochure and two books. One textbook for the students and one book about the material for the teachers. The color difference between the visuals belwo is because the left is in the digital brochure, and is in RGB. The two on the right side are the front cover of the textbook and a page out of the text book, and are in in CMYK.
An event announcement in collaboration with Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The challenge was that I was only allowed to work with two colours. The solution was to work with the opacity and shapes to create more depth.
In the run-up to the 2021 elections, I designed a guide with black women and WOC that you could vote for. The guide was provided by @Iliriana.95.
This post is created for an event. I wanted to create a feeling of movement that would stimulate people to attend the event. Hence the waves and the women that were walking towards the same direction (in direction of the event). The Illustration of the women were made by Pablo Stanley.
