Studio Altar is a multidisciplinary design studio based in London and Amsterdam, established by Delphine Lejeune (Belgium) and Diego Lopez (Peru). Their practice is driven by a passion for traditional crafts and draws from the critical exploration of the crossover between vernacular aesthetics, history and cultural context of the communities the studio collaborates with. The main focus of Studio Altar is to preserve traditional artisanal techniques by creating narrative artefacts or engaging interventions. Whether working on self-initiated research projects or design commissions, our goal is to create a bridge between the past and the future of crafts.
