Studio in the Woods

  • Angus Stanley

I was lucky enough to join a group of architects, designers, foresters and students in a beautiful woodland near Bath to explore how to work with materials found on-site. Our team focused on enhancing a natural bridge found in the forest from two trees that had fallen on top of one another. Using freshly processed timber from the woodland, we created a supporting bridge structure that held a walkway, creating an elevated route over the trees. The structure was joined using bolts and re-purposed bicycle inner tubes to minimise waste.
