Sustainable Coral

This artwork looks at coral bleaching: our vibrant coral reefs are bleaching due to rising sea temperatures. I have chosen to recreate these beautiful corals, creating a mini coral reef but completely colourless to capture the delicate nature of this ecosystem. I have created intricate embellishments and my own sequins using non-plastic materials. While also using hand stitch and beading to create a highly decorative surface. Materials used includes card, plastic bags and packaging materials.
