Syfy Channel's biggest movie franchise is the Sharknado series, and for movie number three, they wanted a series of sharable social assets to encourage the audience to host their own viewing parties to coincide with a live celebrity watchalong hosted by Jedward.
As the Social Media Creative Lead, I worked closely with tthe client and account team to ideate and oversee the designs and copywriting of a variety of assets including bingo cards, 'how to' instuctional assets, false weather reports and promotional gifs and social movie posters to promote the movie event.
During the live celebrity watchalong, I worked closely with the producers to shoot and capture live content such as shark themed videos, photographs and gifs featuring the celebrities for the UK's live tweetalong. This acivity ensured that Sharknado 3 broke Twitter records for the Syfy channel. It trended globally, and our content gave the UK feed it's own distinct voice that stood out in the noisy social conversation.
