The ‘takeApart’ collection is inspired from the knitted structure and my own personal background. In the three-dimensional world, things are composed of the two-dimensional surface. I am trying to return to the basic compositional form of our world. Using and deconstructing a traditional two-dimensional garment block to wrap the three-dimensional human body and achieve a brand new look. In The ‘takeApart’ collection, knitted structure is a medium to connect and join different materials, from furry mohair to PVC, and panels. Without any sewing, each panel is connected by the connection units developed from the Chinese character of my name, every item made up from modular system panels and all garments are inter changeable. There are endless looks from these 8 basic line up looks. They are produced from the same process, but the results are different. This design is really suitable for people to pursue different personality characteristics. And friendly for the environment as well, there are no waste parts, each panel is individual and changeable.

Not only design a garment, but also design a culture. In the digital era, I want to design something that will encourage people back to reality from the online world. Just like the name of the collection, ‘takeApart’, it means join in or deconstruct, as in the relationship between people.
