About me
As an international student, I am one of those frequent travellers. I spend a lot of time travelling from country to country, going home on holiday, staying for a month, and then coming back. There are lots of things layering together and also connecting, influencing each other, western and eastern culture mix in my mind, influence or contrast with each other, and they all effect my thoughts and designs. Not only design a garment, but also design a culture. In the digital era, I want to design something that will encourage people back to reality from the online world. Just like the name of the collection, takeApart, it means join in or deconstruct, as in the relationship between people.

In the future, this innovation material will make the process become possible which is shaping the car from the interior to the exterior at the same time, and using the same production steps, people can get a personalised form. Knitted structure also has some stretchability compared with woven structure, and also can absorb the impact.
  • l a y e r s
l a y e r sThe project is in a way my own story. As an international student, I am one of those frequent travellers. I spent a lot of time travelling from country to country, going home on holiday, staying for a month, and then coming back, moving around in London. Sometimes, I feel I just like a nomad. There are lots of layers in my life, western and eastern culture mixed in my mind, and they all influence my thoughts and designs. There are lots of culture layering together and also connecting, influencing of each other. So I try to use different materials, techniques and my invented connection parts to visualise this “linking” story. My brand begins from my own name. I use really basic garment pattern and silhouettes which are inspired from traditional Banjara costume and pocket techniques combining with graphic pattern which is inspired from some modern art work. In my own way to intemperate eastern and western culture mix up and create a high-end womenswear collection, which has flexible attachment parts to reconstruct the garment according to wearers’ purpose.
  • T I M E L E S S
T I M E L E S SThe collection draws upon a textile tradition, and transforms it to demonstrate a homespun aesthetic which will appeal to the contemporary consumer. Exploration of new materials, in particular the merge of knit with woven fabrics, has allowed for highly creative and innovative textile development through knitting and embroidery processes. Functionality and minimalism will be key aspects of this collection. The silhouette of this collection will think deeply about the timeless shape, and should be worn for very long time without being overtaken by fashion trends. Simplify and be functional, and few decorations to achieve the aim. The future will have practical uniforms and minimal garments to meet the basic fashion needs of humans and it also can stand out textile designs. The shapes of this collection will be oversized, drop shouldered with rounded shoulder line and unisexual, as well as simple and relaxed fit.
