T-shirts Design
The brief for this project was to create a visual artefact in order to represent a certain statistic from the HSBC library. So, I decided to illustrate the price evolution of cotton from the past 45 years. Due to the fact that it's about cotton, I thought that using T-shirts as my creative canvas would be a good fit. So, my aim was to create five T-shirts, each of them represents a decade.
The styles
In order to represent these decades, I decided to research some of the most iconic and recognizable patterns and materials used in these periods. I ended up using materials like glitter and denim for the '70s and the '00s. However, I thought that for the other three, patterns were more suitable to represent them (such as the polka dots).
The floor
I wanted the elements on the T-shirt to be as few as possible and I also wanted to offer a solution for HSBC to promote these T-shirts. So, I decided to use the floor as a path for people, in order to explore the designs and to better understand the statistics used. You can see bellow how the path summarizes the evolution of the price of cotton.
