Talent management for Halifax launch at Content London Dec 2019

Produced by Beyond and sold internationally by Beyond Distribution, Halifax F.P. was one of Australia’s most popular-ever crime series, running on Nine Network from 1994 to 2002. In 2019, it was announced that the series would be returning in 2020 as Halifax: Retribution, with Rebecca Gibney reprising her leading role as forensic psychiatrist Dr. Jane Halifax and Anthony LaPaglia (Riviera, Bad Blood) joining the cast. Beyond Distribution had negotiated a panel event and sneak preview with the stars and producers at the prestigious Content London event, plus selected meetings and dinners, and called upon Mandy Lawn for her expertise in talent management. Mandy worked closely with the team at Beyond to fully understand the content and audience for the panel event and the general itinerary requirements for Rebecca Gibney and Anthony LaPaglia while in London. She also appraised herself of the venue for the panel and made sure the C21 organisers were aware of her role as an addition to the Beyond team for the event. In advance, Mandy spent time researching both actors and studying their social media feeds in order to get a feel for their personalities and preferences. This enabled her to recommend appropriate and best-fit stylists and hair and make-up experts from her network of contacts. This research also ensured a smooth and warm welcome when she met them in their hotel rooms and gave the talent an intrinsic comfort factor. Working to a pre-agreed budget, Mandy managed their itineraries and looks over a 3 day period, dealing with any ad hoc requests and ensuring they were fully briefed and were where they needed to be in good time. The main panel event was well received and the producers and talent were very happy with the support given by Beyond Distribution – and their interim team member.
