Termite pavilion

  • Ben Rigby
A six metre cube constructed in KLH cross laminated timber, the Pestival pavilion was a hugely successful collaboration between Softroom, Freeform Engineering, Atelier One, KLH and sound artist Chris Watson.
The results were a beautiful temporary public space educating visitors about the unique climate control characteristics of termite architecture. Our works focused on developing an integrated lighting scheme visually and dynamically communicating the energy of the architecture and soundscape.
