TfL - Elizabeth Line

  • Corrin Woollcott

The end of one era sees the start of another - June 2022 The Idea TfL wanted to celebrate the opening of the Elizabeth Line with Time Out. We thought what better way to do just that than for them to wrap our very last issue of Time Out Magazine with an incredible artwork execution, complete with a bespoke designed gatefold. What we did For the very last issue of Time Out magazine we created an incredibly in-depth co-branded coverwrap with TfL. After almost 13 versions and over 150 emails later we executed a complete recreation of the London Underground Map where each line celebrated a section from Time Out magazine and each station pinpointed a moment in pop culture throughout the years (if you're a visual understander like me, scroll down for the image. It'll make a lot more sense, I promise). Each line starts in 1968 (when the first ever mag was published) and ends in 2022 (when the last ever mag was published) with stops along the way showing events and topics Time Out has covered and captured over the years, in partnership with TFL, who have been (and continue to be) one of Time Out’s biggest and longest supporters throughout the years. This worked really nicely as the closing of Time Out magazine coincided with the opening of the Elizabeth Line, which sat as a beautiful IFC gatefold on our bespoke coverwrap - acting as a sentimental symbol as the end of one era ends and the start of another begins.
