This body of work is a mixed media project that focuses on the brutal history of women's health. Dr J Marion Sims has been immensley celebrated as the founding "Father of Gynecology" since the 19th century for his surgeries on women. in this complex three board collage of found images, text and personal documents I meticulously curated a narrative to reveal the truth of Marion Sims work which involved countless experiments on many black enslaved women. By scorching a portrait of Dr J Marion Sims by using a pyography pen freehand into a wooden panel I invited viewers at the free range exhibition at the truman brewery, London, to destroy the artwork with imitation blood to signify the pain and suffering the women experienced.
